London Design Festival 16 is another great success
An enormous thank you to everyone who visited the Schiatti brands during the
London Design Festival 2016. A number of the brands represented by Schiatti
held special events during the week of the festival, and many featured revised
showroom displays to promote new products to the many visitors with an
enthusiastic appetite for the very best in design.
Some of the highlights of the Schiatti brands’ activities during the London
Design Festival week are shown here; if you were unable to attend the 2016
event, we do hope you can make it in 2017 – it’s not to be missed!
Our unmissable brands at the London Design Festival
The London Design Festival is a world renowned design event. Since its
beginning in 2003, the festival has grown in size and stature and is now a
recognised showcase for the celebration of all that is excellent in design in
London – and from around the world. From 17 – 25 September 2016, there will
be 100s of events taking place all over London, covering every aspect of
design, and as ever, design excellence in furniture will be an important theme.
Showroom Redesign SALE
In the runup to the forthcoming London Design Festival on 17 25 September, two exclusive
Italian furniture brands will be revising their showroom displays; Porada, at the Chelsea
Harbour Design Centre, and LEMA at 183 Kings Road. As a consequence, a limited number of
fabulous exdisplay pieces will be available for purchase at significantly reduced prices.
In addition, Interdesign at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre is offering a range of exdisplay
Flexform pieces from its own extensive showroom collection.
This is an amazing opportunity to purchase from a stunning range of pieces at incredible
prices. Please note that whilst many pieces are available for immediate delivery, some will be
restricted to delivery after midSeptember.

Schiatti brands strengthen presence in London
London is renowned for its design conscious and discerning customers – it’s of
little surprise that many of the world’s finest furniture manufacturers choose to
have a presence in this influential city. Thankfully, even in these times of
perceived cultural and economic uncertainty, the demand for great interior
design and beautiful furniture, especially in London, remains consistent; to
reflect the continued confidence in this sector, Schiatti are delighted to
announce that three of the brands it represents have further strengthened their
presence in London with stunning new displays, and a new showroom.
The following provides only a glimpse of the new displays and showroom in
London, and Schiatti would urge you to visit them to fully appreciate the
amazing products that are on display!
2016 Salone del Mobile an incredible success
When the 55th Salone del Mobile interior design show closed its doors on
17 April, almost 375,000 visitors had attended what is now regarded as the
premier interior design show in the world. Evidence of the show’s increasing
international stature was that the number of attendees was up almost 4% on
the 2014 show – the last time the biennial kitchen and bathroom exhibitions
took place. The visitors to the show, which included the Italian Prime Minister,
Matteo Renzi, were treated to a truly stunning showcase of Italian creativity
and manufacturing expertise.
Salone del Mobile 2016 55 years of fabulous design
Incredibly, 2016 will see the 55th Salone del Mobile interior design show in
Milan. This remains the ‘must-see’ interior design event on the calendar, and
the 2016 show is once again a sell-out; over 2,310 exhibitors, from over 160
countries, will attract tens of thousands of visitors to see world-class,
innovative and trend-setting interior design products and services.
Porada flagship store is resized and revised
Since opening in 2013, the flagship Porada store at the Design Centre in
Chelsea Harbour, London has attracted thousands of visitors to see and
experience its iconic furniture. With the huge appeal of Porada furniture
amongst the design cognoscenti, the company has significantly increased the
size of its flagship store to accommodate a larger range of its products, enhance
their presentation, whilst continuing to provide a stunning location for visitors to
enjoy the unique experience that is Porada.
IMM 2016 – the style of things to come
As the first show to start 2016, IMM 2016 was an unqualified success. It is
estimated that 120,000 visitors attended the show – of which 80,000 were trade
– all of whom came to see almost 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries display
new and exciting trends in design. Ironically many commentators identified that
the new trends on show were, in many instances, retrospective, with design
inspiration coming from the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. And natural materials, colour
and great attention to detail were much in evidence too.
Two exciting shows to start 2016
As well as a very Happy and Prosperous New Year, Schiatti is looking forward
to it being an exciting year too! And January is very definitely an exciting month
for furniture and interior design, with two of the worlds most highly regarded
furniture design shows taking place; Imm Cologne 18 – 24 January and
Maison et Objet in Paris 24 – 28 January.
