As the first show to start 2016, IMM 2016 was an unqualified success. It is estimated that 120,000 visitors attended the show – of which 80,000 were trade – all of whom came to see almost 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries display new and exciting trends in design. Ironically many commentators identified that the new trends on show were, in many instances, retrospective, with design inspiration coming from the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. And natural materials, colour and great attention to detail were much in evidence too.
